A tie is, by nature, a two-dimensional garment that requires the shape of the wearer to give it any true definition - usually. The design of this Italian silk tie, however, gives the tie itself a structure of it's own. There is a deep auburn background which is quite routine and a light blue silk strip follows in the same vein. So far, so usual - but what gives this tie it's almost three-dimensional appearance is the very thin black lines that outline the blue strips. These make the tie appear to have an extra element and transform a simple, oft-seen design into something a little extra. The tie itself has a little extra too, with extra large proportions of 3.5" x 61".
